Geranium, belonging to the genus Pelargonium, is cultivated both for its beauty and for the benefits it offers in the perfume industry. Although there are over 200 varieties of pelargonium, only a few are used for the production of essential oils. The uses of Geranium oil date back to ancient Egypt, where it was used for beautifying the skin. In the Victorian era, fresh geranium leaves adorned tables and were sometimes consumed as an addition to meals. Geranium oil supports a healthy appearance of skin and hair, making it an ideal addition to skincare products. Additionally, its scent helps to calm nerves and relieve stress. Geranium is also a natural insect repellent.
