Basil, belonging to the mint family, is an herb with numerous health benefits, commonly used in the kitchen. The fresh, herbal flavor of basil pairs perfectly with meat, pasta, and appetizers. It can be added to dishes both during cooking and as a garnish to enhance the taste and appearance of the dish. However, basil essential oil has uses beyond the kitchen! It can help achieve calmness and concentration, and when applied to the temples or neck, it provides relief from tension.
• Massage the basil oil with a carrier oil and Wintergreen into the neck to relax the body.
• Apply a few drops after an intense day of physical activity to relax the muscles.
• Use basil as a cooling agent to soothe the skin.
• Spray the oil to improve concentration while studying or working.
• Apply directly to insect bites to soothe the skin.
• Topical use: Apply 1-2 drops to the selected area. Dilute with fractionated coconut oil to minimize the risk of irritation.
• Aromatic application: Use 3-4 drops in your chosen diffuser.
