The peppermint plant, a hybrid of water mint and spearmint, was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. doTERRA peppermint essential oil, due to its high menthol content, stands out in quality among other mint products. Often used in toothpaste and chewing gum for oral health, this oil also has a beneficial effect on the skin – when applied topically, it can reduce the visibility of blemishes. Peppermint remains one of the best-selling essential oils from doTERRA.
